About

We begin simply—with a slice of sourdough, enjoyed just as it is. One first bite, one first impression, and perhaps just one word to describe what you taste.
Then, we let the bread meet the richness of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Next comes an open-faced creation, topped with crisp cucumber and delicate smoked salmon.
From there, we turn the sourdough into a warm, comforting sandwich filled with grilled cheese and chicken.
And finally, we end on a sweet note—buttered, pan-fried banana and peanut butter, nestled on sourdough.

Five ways. Five different sensations. One humble loaf.
Come taste, share, and discover how many stories a slice of sourdough can tell—by the river.

About the host, Tan Kim Wang

It began with a love for bread.

In 2018, he taught himself to make sourdough, simply because he loved it. What started with loaves for friends slowly grew into something more. After the pandemic, he spent two more years learning from different teachers, discovering new techniques, flavours and the quiet beauty of taking things slowly. Perhaps that is what sourdough has taught him most.

Like life, it needs time. A little patience. A little care. People come and go, seasons change, and with each one, we become a little more ourselves.

A sourdough starter grows its own character over time. So do we.

Whenever Wang has a break from filming, he still returns to the kitchen — to bake, to share, and simply to enjoy the process.

Join Wang for a journey through sourdough, stories and the beauty of slow living.
Because some things — like good bread, and a good life — are worth waiting for.
